The difference between woven and non-woven tapes
As the name suggests, non-woven tapes are made from materials that aren't weaved during the production process. With the addition of an adhesive layer, these types of materials create a more porous tape, that is flexible and allows certain amounts of water and air through. For this reason, non-woven tapes are popularly used in the health care industry and in sports. In the construction industry, they are often used for sealing applications. For instance, a coating of a non-woven adhesive can prevent PU foam from leaking out of refrigerators during the injection process, whilst still allowing air to escape to prevent any pressure building up on the inside. Just like that, there are many other uses for non-woven tapes. However, it can be difficult to establish which tape is right for which application.
